What does a lawyer do when he’s heard my complaint and has made a decision?

I was telling a lawyer my securities complaint for finra arbitration. I completed the conversation by email. Does he send the complaint forward to the regulatory organization stating that he won’t take the matter? Does he rat me out in other words?
