can I be schedueled for court without being notified?

Question by Sweetie: can I be schedueled for court without being notified?
I was notified that I have court tomorrow, I have an opportunity to settle out of court but I must give this “lawyer” my bank account information and permission to with-drawl from it by 7am or I will loose my opportunity to settle out of court. the first time I was notified was this afternoon. I am leary that this may be con. If I am scheduled for court, don’t I have to be notified or served papers? How can I find out if I do have a court date and don’t know when or where?

you would have to be served with the papers by mail or by the sheriffs department try calling your local court houses and see if they have anything scheduled for you. or call your local police department and see if they can help you.
